Cain’s Twirling Ideas

The internet’s hottest video today is of the editorial board of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel questioning Herman Cain on Libya. TPM’s Eric Kleefeld sums up Cain’s answer to whether he agreed with President Obama’s actions on Libya:

“Okay, Libya,” Cain said — then paused, looking downward. “President Obama supported the uprising — correct? President Obama called for the removal of Qaddafi. Just want to make sure we’re talking about the same thing before I say, yes I agreed, or no I didn’t agree.”

“I do not agree with the way he handled it, for the following reasons — No, that’s a different one. (Pauses) I gotta go back, see. (Pauses) Got all this stuff twirling around in my head. Specifically, what are you asking me, did I agree or not disagree (sic) with Obama?”

I think we well know by now —after Cain’s ridiculous response to a question about Uzbekistan—that he knows nothing about foreign policy or the world for that matter. But really, could a guy who claims to be in sync with the Republican base not realize there are a few end-times theories about Libya and the Arab Spring? Because if you’re going to go down in flames, you might as well, you know, go all out.
