Pierrette Hondagneu-Sotelo is Professor and Director of Graduate Studies in the Department of Sociology at the University of Southern California. Her research has focused on gender and immigration, gender and informal sector work, transnational families, and most recently, on the ways religion is used in social movement activism for immigrant rights. On that topic, she has recently completed the edited volume, Religion and Social Justice for Immigrants (Rutgers University Press, 2007) and Godâ??s Heart Has No Borders: Religious Activism for Immigrant Rights (University of California Press, 2008).
