Byron R. McCane and Dan Mathewson

Byron R. McCane is Albert C. Outer Professor of Religion and Chair of the Department of Religion at Wofford College. Educated at the University of Illinois and Duke University, his area of research is the history and archaeology of religion in the ancient Mediterranean, especially the Roman Empire. His book, Roll Back the Stone: Death and Burial in the World of Jesus, was published in 2003 by Trinity Press International. Dan Mathewson is Assistant Professor of Religion at Wofford College where he teaches about contemporary expressions of religious faith. He has authored papers and one book that explore such topics as biblical texts, trauma theory, American Evangelicalism, science and religion, and professional wrestling. His real vocational goal is to play in the NHL.
