Carmen Celestini

Dr. Carmen Celestini, is a lecturer at the University of Waterloo in religious studies and Arts First Program and an incoming Post-Doctoral Fellow with the School of Religion at Queen's University, in Kingston Ontario. A former Post-Doctoral Fellow with the Disinformation Project at Simon Fraser University where she researched conspiracy theories and extremism on social media, and a former Fellow with the Centre on Hate, Bias, and Extremism. Her research focuses on the overlapping belief systems of Christian Nationalism, conspiracy theories, and extremism, as well as the impact of these beliefs/ideologies on politics in North America.
