Carolyn Klaasen and Jenna Stover-Kemp

Carolyn Klaasen is a PhD student in Hebrew Bible at Union Theological Seminary. She focuses on issues of gender in the Bible and the ancient Near East, and is writing her dissertation on literary depictions of violent women in the Bible. Jenna Stover-Kemp is a PhD student in Hebrew Bible at UC Berkeley. She focuses on cultural memory and identity within the Pentateuch, and is interested in how biblical authors utilize memories of the past to bolster their own ideological perspectives.
