Megan Goodwin and Ilyse Morgenstein Fuerst

Dr. Megan Goodwin is a senior editor for Religion Dispatches, nerd-in-chief at Feral Nerd Consulting, and the media and technology consultant for the Crossroads Project. Her research centers on race, gender/sexuality, politics, and American minority religions. She is the author of Abusing Religion: Literary Persecution, Sex Scandals, and American Minority Religions. (Rutgers 2020). With Dr. Ilyse Morgenstein Fuerst, she produces and hosts the award-winning podcast Keeping It 101: A Killjoy’s Introduction to Religion. Their first co-authored book, Religion Is Not Done With You, is now available through Beacon Press. | Dr. Ilyse Morgenstein Fuerst is Associate Professor of Religion and director of the Humanities Center at the University of Vermont. She was a 2022-2023 Fulbright Scholar at the University of Birmingham. Her research centers on Islam and Muslims in South Asia, imperialism, and intersections of religion, race, and belonging. She is author of Indian Muslim Minorities and the 1857 Rebellion: Religion, Rebels, and Jihad and co-editor of Words of Experience: Translating Islam with Carl W. Ernst. Morgenstein Fuerst is the author of numerous articles about Islam, Islamic studies, and religion in South Asia and is an award-winning teacher. She co-hosts the popular, grant-funded, and award-winning Amplify Podcast Network Keeping it 101: a Killjoy’s Introduction to Religion podcast with Dr. Megan Goodwin.
