The Cubit Pitch Guide

Thank you for your interest in writing for The Cubit!

The Cubit covers topics at the intersection of religion, science, technology, and ethics. If you aren’t familiar with our voice, please start with our manifesto, and then check out the collected works.

Send pitches to [email protected]. Tell us:

1. A one sentence version of your main argument or idea
2. Background information about the topic at hand
3. Why your idea is a good fit for The Cubit
4. Why you’re the right person to cover this topic, and, if it’s been covered before, what makes your position unique

And if you have experience writing for a popular audience, include some clips.

Remember that a good pitch is not just a collection of interesting ideas. It is a short and sharp introduction to a compelling topic.

Are you an academic journal or a magazine?
We straddle that line. Many of our contributors are academics, and we engage with theory and the scholarly literature more seriously than most journalists. At the core, though, we’re following a magazine model. Our goal is to explore, inform, and entertain.
